Save money in-store and online with these tips
Anyone who enjoys saving money probably is a fan of the RetailMeNot website thanks to its ability to give you promo codes for online retail purchases.
The company also features a free app that can help you find coupon codes for both in-store and online purchases, and not just at the big retailers. Smaller specialty shops occasionally list promo codes as well.

There are a few different ways you can maximize your savings with the RetailMeNot app.
Today's Hot Deals on RetailMeNot
When you first open the RetailMeNot app, you’ll see that you can either search for stores or peruse “Today’s Hot Deals.” Scrolling through the daily deals is a quick and easy way to get acquainted with how the app works since it only lists ten or so coupons and won’t leave you overwhelmed with data.
Use your finger to scroll from one daily deal to the next and keep note of the banner at the top of each store name, because that’s an important factor in your shopping. Above the retailer’s name will be a banner that either says “Online” or “In-Store.” The coupons designated for online use will typically offer you a coupon code or promo code that you’ll enter during checkout when you make an online purchase using your phone or computer.
Decisions were not made in meetings, all discussion in meetings was futile, it was always a formality. Managers would tell you what you wanted to hear, then renege on it later. Life at RetailMeNot evolved to process without purpose, and became a total drag. RetailMeNot is a leading savings destination that influences purchase decisions through the power of savings. By connecting partners with our active, engaged shopping audience, we drive growth for.
On the other hand, the deals marked “In-Store” can be redeemed by showing the retailer the coupon directly from your mobile phone. If a deal interests you, tap the “Get Coupon” button and then present your phone to the server before you get your bill to redeem the coupon.
Granted, RetailMeNot made its name for revealing online coupon codes, so you’ll find more of those on the app than in-store coupons, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find quite a few great deals on the app that you can redeem on-site.
Search for Stores by Name with RetailMeNot App
Once you’ve got the hang of the app by following step one above, you can move on to searching for store coupons using the name of the retailer. For example, type in ”Gap” in the search field and the app will return coupons for online use (note that “online” is the default search result for each store.)
If you tap 'In-Store” at the top of the screen you'll see any available in-store coupons. Just tap “Get Coupon,” to bring up the screen you'll present to the cashier, who can apply your discounts.
If you are heading out to the mall and you make a list ahead of time, you might want to search for coupons that interest you on the app, and then tap “Save” on the app when you find one you like. Then you can just tap the “Saved” icon once you’re at the mall to bring up all of the coupons you’re planning to use on your excursion.
In-Store Coupons With the RetailMeNot App
There will be some stores that you search which will offer quite a few online coupons but no in-store deals. The app will then give you the option of tapping “Tell this store you want in-store coupons!”
Once you hit that button, the app will share your request with the company, hopefully prompting them to release more in-store coupons to RetailMeNot. In addition, the app then recommends stores similar to the one you searched that do offer coupons.

RetailMeNot, Inc. (formerly Whaleshark Media) is an American multinational company headquartered in Austin, that maintains a collection of coupon web sites. The company was founded by Cotter Cunningham.[3] The company owns RetailMeNot.com and VoucherCodes.co.uk and acquires coupon sites and third-party software.
RetailMeNot was established to aggregate coupon offers[clarification needed] and make them available to consumers. It distributes coupons in retail categories including accessories, automotive, baby products, beauty products, clothing, electronics, furniture, health, home and garden, jewelry, pets, photography, toys and travel.
History[edit]
Founded in 2006 by Australian entrepreneurs Guy King and Bevan Clark. The two had previously collaborated on BugMeNot, a site that allowed users to share fake identities in order to avoid website registrations and content paywalls, and a content management systemCushyCMS.[4][5] The company was acquired by Whaleshark Media in 2010.[6] The company raised $300 million in funding from Austin Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, Adams Street Partners, Institutional Venture Partners, JP Morgan and Google Ventures.[7] Eventually acquiring the already established coupon site RetailMeNot.com from Australia, the company changed its name in 2013 to RetailMeNot.
As Whaleshark Media, the company acquired sites[which?] in the US and Europe. After changing its name to RetailMeNot in June 2013 for branding purposes, the company filed an IPO for $230 million in 2013.[8]In April 2017 Harland Clarke, a payment and marketing services firm, announced to acquire RetailMeNot in a deal worth $630 million in equity.[9]
Legal issues[edit]
Mary Kay Cosmetics sued affiliate site RetailMeNot in federal court for displaying coupons on their site despite the fact they have been asked to take them down. Mary Kay's position is that the display of Mary Kay coupons misleads consumers and harms the brand and its relationship with its sales reps (independent consultants) in several ways.[10] The lawsuit was resolved after several months by way of confidential settlement.[11]
In June 2018, RetailMeNot sued competitor Honey Science Corporation over patent infringement in computer-related technologies.[12]
